Sileni Vineyard Main Building

Sileni

Sileni Estates is a major vineyard and winery development in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand's oldest established vineyard area. The first vintage was in 1998 and since then the wines have won world wide acclaim.

Sileni Estates is named after the Sileni who featured in Roman mythology alongside Bacchus, the god of wine. They celebrated good wine, good food and good company. It boasts a state of the art winery designed to crush over 1500 tonnes of grapes. They produce hand crafted wines that reflect the unique characteristics of their Hawke’s Bay vineyards.

Featured wines in the New Zealand Wine Centre wine tasting adventure:

SILENI – Cellar Selection Pinot Gris
This Hawke’s Bay wine has classic aromatic peach flavours along with beautifully balanced acidity and a long finish. It is just off dry and well suited to seafood, white meats and Asian food styles.

SILENI – Cellar Selection Rose Cabernet Franc
This wine has a bright ruby colour, with aromas of raspberry and brambles. The palate is mouth filling with flavours of raspberries and a touch of pepper. A great food wine at anytime of the year, this goes well with seafood and Mediterranean cuisine.
